Founded in 2021, Atelier Giorgio is driven by a clear mission: to create immersive, culturally inspired spaces that make people feel both transported and completely at ease. Blending Mediterranean influence with South African context, the studio delivers warm, sophisticated interiors rooted in craftsmanship, sustainability, and collaboration with local artisans. In 2026, Giorgio Tatsakis was listed in SCAPE’s Top 100 Architects & Designers shaping the industry, recognising his growing impact on the design landscape.

Born in Johannesburg with formative years in Greece, Giorgio founded the studio in his early twenties after completing his BA in Interior Design at Greenside Design Centre. His breakthrough project, Ethos Restaurant, earned international acclaim, including International Restaurant of the Year (2022) and global recognition at the International Hotel & Property Awards in Capri. Alongside Atelier Giorgio, he co-founded Clay by MG and launched Société by Giorgio, further championing local craft and design-led living.

Today, Giorgio’s work is defined by purposeful storytelling, community collaboration, and elevating South African design onto the international stage — crafting spaces that are not only beautiful, but deeply felt.
